- The Tiny Difference With Huge Impact
by Dave Cleinman
I have a problem. I keep thinking that I should be referring to problems as challenges, because challenges can be overcome, whereas the idea of problems is distressing and painful. A problem implies a difficulty that causes strife. Or, said another way, a challenge can be viewed as a temporary setback that can be
overcome with effort and desire.
This difference is all about perspective. For some the difference means nothing because all problems are challenges to them. But for many people, a problem is an obstacle, and often is never overcome. One of the reasons internet marketers have such dismal results, statistically, is this very factor. A problem occurs and the person suffering with it does not make a real effort to do the research and overcome it. In essence, the motivation to beat the problem is outweighed by the perceived difficulty.
If we use the word challenge instead of problem, however, then problem dissolves and we are met with a challenge that we can beat. The same situation exists, but the way we approach it is completely different. Most people, by and large, accept challenges willingly and will work hard to overcome them. Nicole Bandes says it this way:
Problem, (versus challenge), doesn’t really elicit the kind of feelings that will help us overcome what we are faced with. Challenge, on the other hand, makes it into a game. It isn’t so much about winning as how you play.
Dictionary.com defines these words this way:
Problem – any question or matter involving doubt, uncertainty, or difficulty.
Challenge – a call or summons to engage in any contest, as of skill, strength, etc.
The word problem implies difficulty, uncertainty, doubt. Yuck! Hardly empowering concepts that motivate! Instead the whole concept is often so troubling that it stops people dead in their tracks.
Challenge, on the other hand, is a call to action. A battle cry. A call to arms, so to speak. Even though the situation is identical, the way we view it is so dramatically different that it inspires us to seek a solution, rather than run away. When we accept a challenge, we decide to fight. We choose to put forth the effort to conquer, to overcome, to stand victoriously on top of what would have taken us down or deterred us. The power of the challenge concept is so powerful that it makes a huge difference in how we look at any situation.
The next time something happens that would stop you, or distress you to the point of giving up, ask one question: How can I beat this challenge? Doing so will automatically deter your distress and get the wheels rolling towards a solution. This is a time where our mind will automatically seek a solution if we give it the energy and power that it requires to make a good start. It’s all about empowerment, and the idea of a challenge is inherently
empowering. ◄

- How
Writing Every Day Can Make You A Successful Marketer
By: Connie
Ragen Green
Since 2006 writing articles and blog posts has been a very important part of my business. In fact, I just
celebrated a milestone this week when my articles reached six hundred thousand page views. That took four
years for me to achieve, but that is exactly how you grow your business - one day at a time. Think about
what you are doing each day to build your own business, and this will give you a good idea of what you can
do to increase your effectiveness.
If anyone would have told me that writing would be such an important part of my success when I was first
starting out, I may not have started my business. You see, I had not written in more than twenty years
because I was told that my writing was not any good. I simply gave up, I gave up on trying to learn to
write more effectively. Now I know better than to give up on anything in my life, and my experience as a
new writer taught me this lesson well.
My recommendation is to write every day. Not on weekdays, or days you are writing articles, but every
single day. You will be a writer if you do this for thirty minutes a day for thirty days. You will have
become accustomed to incorporating writing into your daily schedule, and this will change your life.
Re-purpose everything you write to increase your output exponentially. I always begin with my idea for a
blog post, and then I immediately turn that post into an article that can be submitted to the article
directories. This is the way I get targeted traffic to my sites and build my list. This has been a day by
day process that has enabled me to now have over 1500 articles in my inventory. This has been instrumental
to my success.
Where are you right now? Take a close look. If you write occasionally, decide what time of day is best for
you. I prefer to write first thing in the morning when I am wide awake and fresh. You most likely know when
you are the sharpest. If you are not writing right now, start by writing for thirty minutes about the topic
you want to become an expert in. Reading and writing about your topic will give you the credibility and the
expert status that will set you apart from everyone else online.
