1. Build a Core Desire and the need for "Comfort" Departs I admit that for a long time getting “outside my comfort zone” sounded ominous and painful. It’s funny how this simple term can have such a profound effect on one’s mental state. I think the reason is that most people who have busy lives and have also had many years (or decades) to get used to something, really need to expend a tremendous amount of energy to restructure their mental framework to allow for a significant change. This can be extremely challenging when life is busy and time is short. In addition to that, they often find themselves making an attempt to change, without any real support except for their limited mental energy, and they may also be struggling with naysayers and doubters pounding them with detractions. Getting outside your comfort zone to make changes is challenging, but certainly very doable and above all, well worth it. Realistically, it’s the only way to achieve true and lasting change. So the questions become: 1. How do I build a core desire to change? 2. How can I complete the process and not quit? 3. What can I expect the results to be and, more importantly, will they be worth it!? The answers are unique to each individual, but here are some things to consider when trying to make a transition to a better, more fulfilling life: 1. Building core desire should be based on tangibles (goals and desires) * Do you have all the money you need to be debt free, own a nice home, have reliable vehicles, provide for your family and loved ones, and be set for life after working? * Is your time your own? Can you do what you want, when you want? Is this situation acceptable to you? * Are you happy? (Yes, you have the right to be happy!) Whoever came up with the notion that people have to be unhappy and guilt-ridden as they traipse through life was probably themselves guilt-ridden and miserable. People should be happy, fulfilled, enjoying life! Money, time, and personal fulfillment are the basis for a life-changing decision, and if even one of these is not in line with your desires, you have a reason to develop a core desire for change. And you should. 2. Completing the process is easier than starting it, and I can sum it up this way: Keep making an effort until you get where you want to go! Let’s say you decide to take your family on a road trip, in a rented RV one summer, to see the major landmarks along Route 66. The trip is going to be six weeks, and you expect it to be a lot of fun. So after two or three weeks, you suddenly get tired of driving. Would you pull over and stop? Never continuing the trip because you are tired? No, you would rest for a while, re-energize, maybe get some food and coffee, and drive on. This simple example is a metaphor for making change. Keep moving forward, take a break when you get tired, then keep going. It really is that simple. Some things that will help you keep going: a. Find good information from people who have done what you are trying to do, and follow their lead. b. Work in stages, or steps. Don’t overdo, and don’t skimp or shirk tasks. Set daily goals for progress and check tasks off as you complete them. If you can’t finish one, move it to the front of the next day’s to-do list. c. Take frequent short breaks between tasks. Burn-out can be dangerous because you might overwhelm yourself with doing, get tired, and lose your routine. d. Celebrate task completion, no matter how small, with a reinforcing action. Some people shout YOO HOO. Other’s treat themselves to a glass of water. Maybe it’s a small piece of chocolate that you’d prefer. Celebrate your victories! e. When you complete a major step, and are beginning to move forward, have a larger celebration then figure out what’s working and do more of it. 3. Will the results be worth it? Will I get what I’m after? YES If you have set your mind on change, analyzed what’s not right, set goals for correcting it, and have established a plan and are following it, you will force yourself to succeed. You won’t settle for anything less! The beauty of this system is that it is based on a simple personal commitment, and everything that you need to succeed is already in place. The information is available, often for no or little cost. The opportunities are everywhere, and not that hard to find. Mentors can be found. Successful people can be found and followed. There is only one part of the equation that requires 100% from you: a commitment and a refusal to fail. A willingness to get out of your “comfort zone” and go for broke. The rest will take care of itself. ◄
--by Dave Cleinman Why do so many internet marketers come onto the internet with high hopes, try for a while, then quit? Several theories exist on this, but I think the real reason is that they simply are not prepared for the jungle that is internet marketing. At first the internet seems like a wide open space where customers exist by the billions, and sales should come easily and constant. Then reality hits. Something like a bus crashing into a dollhouse! Yes, the internet IS wide open, and full of buyers. But No one knows you exist! A new marketer is suddenly faced with the prospect of having to REACH all of these potential customers. At first it seems impossible, then often, a little success happens through safelists, and traffic exchanges. The affiliate product sells a little bit. They recruit a few people. But then it stops. The product stops selling, the recruits do nothing, the ads stop working… Frustration sets in. The defeat begins to be vocalized, or internalized. 1. This is too hard… And on and on and on! And you know what? They are right! Very often, all of these things are true! 1. It IS hard, in the beginning. It takes time, it takes work, it takes a plan, and it takes commitment! 2. They DON”T know what they are doing! Because so few mentors exist and operate. Finding one, or several, is KEY to success! 3. They Really DON”T have anyone to help them. See #2! Finding a Mentor is KEY! 4. 80% of the people really do not care at all, or at least at the moment you meet them! It’s called the 80-20 rule, and it really does exist. Big talk outweighs Big Action 80% of the time! 5. Probably 70% of internet marketers get involved with a scam at one point or another when starting out. I did! most of my friends have. They can be hard to detect and distinguish from real opportunities, and often by the time you figure out that you’re in a scam, they have taken your money and crossed the border! 6. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can waste massive amounts of time and not get anywhere! So, after enough struggling, not knowing what to do, they quit! And who can blame them? So How does one Get Stickwithitness? 1. Education! Learn what the internet is about in forums, through web searches, through simple browsing. Educate yourself BEFORE trying to market on the internet… 2. Research! Once you have decided you want to try it, do a web search for successful affiliate programs, or successful MLMs. Interview the owners and see what you get. Join when you know that you have a good product or company, and will have support. 3. Establish a marketing plan based on the success of others in your organization. If what they are doing is working, it will work for you, too. 4. Follow established business practices: Organize, advertise and track, reinvest revenue and use it to grow exponentially. Support your new people and customers, and track expenditures and profits for taxes. 5. Celebrate your victories, figure out how they came, and do more of those things that are successful. 6. Use team trainings. Use web conferences. Use your program’s training resources, and make sure to get prospects, customers, and downlines plugged into them. 7. Keep this wheel going, tweaking as needed, and you will begin to see steady growth. As time passes, steady growth will become exponential growth, and you will be set for life. So Get Your StickWithItNess and Have Fun Doing It!◄ 3. How To Fund Your Business While You Build It This is a simple overview of a process that is commonly used by the most successful marketers, but rarely talked about because so few marketers have success. In this case, ignorance is brought on by lack of exposure, and the results are that 99% of internet marketers never achieve their dreams and goals, and almost as many never make a dime over what they spend on advertising. What a successful marketer will tell you is that they became wealthy by following a system. If you are fortunate, they will share the system with you. Most will, if you join their affiliate program, but most will not if you have nothing of value to offer them. I’m going to share the process with you, because I hope you’ll be inspired to change your life. And possibly work with me in the process. Step 1. Find an affiliate product to market This is very easy to do. Go to Clickbank or paydotcom and search for a niche that interests you. Examine the products, check popularity and conversion rates, and choose one that sells well, pays well, and converts well (sales per site view). Another factor is equally important: Make sure that you are able to harvest the contact information of the people who purchase your product or even fill out a contact form. This is important for two reasons: 1. Your first priority is to build your list, and customers who buy from you are the very best people to have on your list. And 2. It is vital to branding yourself that you be in contact with anyone you come across, and that means providing them with support both before and after they purchase from you. The best affiliate program, and the one you really want to be looking for, is one that does all of this for you: captures leads, promotes the product to them, makes the sale and pays you, and allows you access to the leads that you capture. Step 2. Promote your new product: I recommend safelists for this, and traffic exchanges to start. More advanced methods include: Blog with a capture page, Ezine articles (your blog can allow you to do double duty here by writing one article and mass distributing it); List exchanges (once you have a decent sized list); Forums (be helpful in forums and don’t spam. Use a signature file for you link); Partnerships and ad swaps; Link exchanges; and SEO techniques. Search Engine Optimization is by far the most complex, and will definitely take the most time. Step 3. After you make some sales, invest in some high-converting advertising and boost your sales. As you make more money, consider creating your own product and marketing it, first to your list, which by now should be starting to really grow, and then in the same way you are promoting your current affiliate program. Step 4. Build a MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing) Organization. While this step is optional, and many affiliate marketers get wealthy by simply promoting products efficiently, MLM is a gateway to true wealth. The power of a large downline of active MLM members can be unmatched, and every major name in network marketing is heavily involved and successful in MLM. Some of the benefits of an MLM are: 1. Power of duplication: There’s only one of you, doing one person’s work. Recruit 10 people, and now you have 10 people doing your work, building your business, earning you money. As you help them succeed, and they each recruit 10 people, now you have 110 people plus yourself building your business! 2. Income: A large MLM organization can make you millions, with far less effort and cost than doing that through an affiliate program. 3. Depth of relationships: While you can market to a list, and make a lot of money, an MLM offers you a chance to build strong and lasting relationships through the establishment of an organization. In addition, by participating in an MLM opportunity, you have direct upline support, and that alone can be worth millions. To summarize this brief overview: 1. Choose a product 2. Make sure you can capture leads and purchaser information 3. Promote and build your list – Building your list IS the Main Thing! 4. Reinvest sales revenue to increase sales 5. Study, and establish yourself as an expert, and use advanced methods to promote your web site and affiliate products, and increase your list size 6. Begin the process of building a large MLM organization 7. Provide support to your purchasers and recruits 8. Continue the cycle until you have achieved your financial and life-goals.
