The Power of Daily Action

by Dave Cleinman

When many people first decide to build a business they have amazing dreams and intentions.  They have reached a point where the appeal of the residual income from an internet based business is in line with their financial goals and personal desires.  The allure of more money, time and personal freedom, perhaps even going full time and being free of a job forever, are moving them towards making a life-changing decision.  In my humble opinion this is a good thing.  The benefits outweigh the risks and difficulties as long as there is an action plan in place and the novice business person is willing to educate themselves and be willing to work hard and not take shortcuts.  The following outlines a series of steps for the new businessperson to take to keep them on track and moving forward regardless of any setbacks.

·   Education:  This really is key.  Knowing the type of business one wants and developing an action plan requires research.  Learning the product, the system, the market, marketing and advertising methods and business skills are essential to a smooth business-building process.  The people who start a business who educate themselves have a much higher success rate than those who simply operate on a hit or miss basis.

·   Daily Action:  This follows education and is essential to forward movement.  Once we know what to do we have to start doing it.  We need to establish a routine and stick to it.  To do lists, checklists, calendars are important.  Daily action does not have to be perfect and we should expect to make mistakes.  They are going to happen, even very serious ones that cost time or waste money, but that is the nature of success.  It is invariably framed by failure.  Failure is simply a step in the learning process, it is not a value judgment or a reason to stop.  This is why daily action is so essential.  If we have a setback our daily action will keep us going.

·   Inertia:  The law of physics that state s a body at rest will remain at rest, or a body in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by a countering force.  A body at rest needs to be jolted into movement, but once going it will keep going until it is stopped by an opposing force.  We want to keep in motion, doing, testing, tweaking, researching, building.  It’s when we decide we can stop that we run into trouble.  Fill your action plan with activities based on what successful businesspeople do, and make your daily schedule efficient and productive, but not so overwhelming that it becomes a burden.  A healthy action plan includes time to relax, rest, and have fun, but always keeps us going.

·   Tracking:  Track your efforts.  Track your advertising.  Track your results.  Make sure that everything you are doing is getting you results.  If it is not, either change it or tweak it.  In many cases it is useful to use a web search or educational material to help you determine how to make a change in what you are doing for maximum results.

·   Celebrate:  Celebrate milestones that you reach.  Celebrate even small victories.  Doing a video, writing an article, recruiting a new member, getting a commission check, no matter how small.  Every little accomplishment leads to larger accomplishments and as long as you follow your daily action plan you can only achieve the success you desire over time.

Your daily action plan is the glue that binds your business together, and the fuel that powers it.  Tweak it as needed for maximum results and keep moving forward.  When you have a setback take a deep breath and just keep going.  If you don’t stop yourself, nothing will, and you will get where you want to go sooner than you might have thought possible.

5 Tips to Help You Save Money

By Sally Henderson

Saving money should be a hobby everyone is interested in. If you aren't actively seeking ways to save money when you spend, then you are throwing money away unnecessarily and unless you can afford to throw money away, you need to read this article.

Every time you spend, there is a possibility to save money. It might not seem like it at first but let's look at a quick example. You go out on a Friday night for a few drinks, usually you would drink as much as you felt like and then grab some food on the way home. If you decided to not buy the last drink and ignore the kebab cravings, you could save the best part of ten pounds. You could always make yourself a sandwich when you get in if you're hungry!

That was just one example of how easy it can be to save even just ten pounds, which might not seem like a lot but if you did that every week for a year its GBP520 - that's the cost of a holiday, your car insurance or could be saved for a rainy day.

Let's look at some other tips that can help you save a considerable amount of money -

1) Shop around. This is especially important if you're buying something expensive. You should always make sure you are getting the very best price available. The internet makes price comparison easy but don't stop there, if you've found the product you want phone them and ask for a discount. If no discount is available, ask them to include some extras in the deal. Remember, the company you buy off need you more than you need them, you can go and find a different supplier easily.

2) Cancel your phone contract. This may seem stupid in this day and age, but canceling your phone contract could be worth up to GBP50 a month to you. That's another GBP600 a year and it's not really that hard to live without a mobile, just use the landline!

3) Sensible shopping. Your weekly shop can turn into a bit of an expensive outing if you don't go prepared. You should already know that shopping on an empty stomach is dangerous, but that's not the end of it. You should start planning your meals for the week so you have a specific shopping list. Where possible, try and make extra portions of your tea so you can have it for lunch the following day, saving you time and money.

4) Turn off the lights. Not just the lights though, leaving appliances on that aren't in use, such as the television and computer will be costing you as well. Switch them off as soon as you finish with them and standby most definitely doesn't count.

5) Vouchers. If you're thinking about buying anything online, make sure you check for money off vouchers first. The internet is rife with money off deals at the moment so take full advantage.
